Just Stop Oil Protesters Found Guilty of Risking Serious Harm at British Grand Prix

Convicted of Breaching Track and Obstructing Cars

Six Protesters Sentenced for Track Invasion

WEB SILVERSTONE -- A group of Just Stop Oil protesters have been found guilty of breaching the track and obstructing cars during the opening lap of the Formula 1 British Grand Prix last year. The protesters' actions put drivers and race marshals at risk of serious harm.

The protesters, who were part of the environmental group Just Stop Oil, had planned to disrupt the race as a means of protesting fossil fuel consumption. They breached the track on the opening lap and sat down on the tarmac, causing cars to swerve and brake to avoid them.

The protesters were quickly removed from the track by security guards, but their actions caused a major disruption to the race. The race was eventually restarted after a short delay, but the incident cast a shadow over the event.

The six protesters who were convicted of risking serious harm have been sentenced to prison terms ranging from six to 16 months. The judge in the case said that the protesters' actions had been "reckless and dangerous" and that they had shown "a complete disregard for the safety of others".

Just Stop Oil is a climate activist group that has been responsible for a number of disruptive protests in recent months. The group's protests have been met with mixed reactions, with some people praising their commitment to environmental protection and others condemning their tactics as reckless and dangerous.
